Elder Courtney M. Walker Sr. founded Mu Theta Chi Christian Fraternity, Inc., on August 7, 2010. Elder Courtney M. Walker Sr. was born in Montgomery, Alabama to the late Gloria Jean Walker and Calvin Pompey on March 23, 1987 at Baptist South Medical Center. Elder Courtney Walker Sr. has accepted his calling at the age of 12 years old to empower people through his ministering, speech, mentoring and testimonies. His Step Father Gregory R. Lovett and Mother raise him to be all that he is today. As a young man, he began his walk with Christ. He got married in July 13, 2013 to Sha’Licia Felder-Walker and they have three son and one daughter. He has a full-time job and very active in Ministry. As a young man, he has faced all kinds of oppositions, which he has overcome with the Lord on his side. He understands and knows the power of our Lord (Proverbs 3:5-6). He understands the hurdles that young men face transitioning from high school into college, the obstacles in college, and the stress that can come along with growing into manhood, he knows all too well. With a testimony about his mother being murder and how he overcame it and his personal testimony of his own (near death experience), he knows the journey is not easy and wants to build a safe place for men to gain spiritual, educational, and brotherly assistance in this journey. Elder Walker has also put on many different programs for youth empowerment and enrichment. He is the founder of Souls on Fire Ministry, which is a Community Youth Service organization. Vice- Chair of the National Christian Council Leader, he is over the Elder in Minister of the Gulf South District of Full Gospel Baptist church Fellowship, he is a member of Carver Senior High school alumni choir, youth mentor, as a Kappa Knight adviser, Elder and so much more. As a member in the choir, he was afforded the opportunity to sing at the Dexter King Memorial, with Alabama Boys and another civil rights event and so much more. He has also received awards through the years. Being a young African American mentor gave him a desire for change...Change in the African American homes, churches, and the youth community.
His goal is to help bring an awareness of God's love to the community prevent pre-marital sex, gang activity, and delinquent behavior. He wants to empowerment and enrichment our youth. He has a heart for the people of God and the community. He wants young men to value and love themselves. He wants them to see themselves the way God see them.
